Climate Change-related Impacts

CLIMATE CHANGE-RELATED IMPACTS

September 12 | 1:40 pm

New Dawn Ballroom

Climate Change and the impacts associated with those changes are fundamental in talking about the future of the Columbia River Basin. This session, which will open the conference and set the stage for many of the conference sessions, begins with a brief introduction on the projected climate changes in the Basin. Discussion will focus on what can be done and what’s already being done to address, mitigate and adapt to climate change as it relates to the ecosystem, energy production and stream flow in the Columbia River Basin, as well as how climate change impacts our present situation and our future.

Moderators:

  • Brian Menounos – Professor, Geography Canada Research Chair in Glacier Change, University of Northern British Columbia
  • Crystal Raymond – Climate Adaptation Specialist, University of Washington
