Poster Submissions

Poster Session - Call for Submissions

Attention researchers, students, or project leads! You are invited to submit a poster presentation abstract (up to 200 words) by Wednesday, July 31, 2019, for an opportunity to have your work displayed and discussed at the Columbia Basin Transboundary Conference Poster Social event.

We would like to highlight posters featuring proposals for future research, overview of research processes, or results of research projects in an area related to any of the following topics:

Topics for poster presentations:

  • Columbia River Treaty;
  • Reintroduction of Salmon into the Columbia River above Chief Joseph and Grand Coulee Dams in Washington and into British Columbia.  
  • Impacts of and response to invasive species;
  • Energy issues including hydropower, energy efficiency (conservation), transmission, and renewable resources;
  • Climate change-related impacts;
  • International water governance issues and opportunities.

Important Dates:

  • Poster abstract submission deadline: Wednesday, July 31, 2019.
  • Notification to submitter of decision to include poster: Thursday, Aug. 15, 2019

Please format the poster as follows:

  • Standard Poster Size: 36 inches X 48 inches
  • Layout: Landscape or Portrait
  • Materials: Paper-based (with matte finish or coated paper)
  • Information to include: Title of poster, presenter’s name, Department/organization, faculty (if applicable), phone, email, purpose of research, method, findings, and three to four key words/themes

If you require any exceptions to the above formatting, please explain your reasoning, and the committee reviewing the abstracts will assess accordingly.

If the poster is accepted, the presenting author is required to register for the conference, bring the printed poster to the registration desk, and be prepared to speak to the poster content to interested attendees at the poster social on the night of Sept 12, 2019. The poster session is open to all conference attendees. Posters will be on display throughout the duration of the conference.
